Ideas for Change in America

change.org has put together an interesting program called “Ideas for Change in America“:

Ideas for Change in America is a nationwide competition to identify the best ideas for change in America. The top 10 ideas will be presented to the Obama administration just before inauguration day and form the basis of a nationwide advocacy campaign to turn each idea into actual policy.

The system for submitting, reading, and voting for ideas is really slick, and the site is filled with great ideas and enthusiastic people. It’s inspiring and a lot of fun to peruse.

The Get FISA Right crew has made their own submission: Get FISA Right, repeal the PATRIOT Act, and restore our civil liberties. It started out quite high in the list, but is now down to #7, putting it at risk of dropping below the top 10 by inauguration day.

If domestic wiretapping and the other changes to FISA are important issues to you, go there and vote it up! It only takes a minute if you have a change.org account, and 3 minutes if you don’t. 🙂
